Meet 'Little Red', the Story truck

Little Red is my six wheeled companion who magically transports me to places both on and off maps all over Aotearoa, New Zealand to share stories. Being on the road for a large part of every year, 'Little Red' provides me with my home away from home.

In her previous life she was a delivery truck but in 2006 she was reborn into her new fairytale existence. She must have had 'good karma' or should I say truck-ma!

In 2007 whilst I was working overseas, Waiheke based artist and wood craftsman Don Stoddard took her home for a long winter holiday and transformed her interior into a wooded wonderland. With hand carved macrocarpa benches and Leunig like curls on her custom built furniture, Don created an enchanting little room that would look at home in any folktale.

In our four years together we have visited and shared stories with thousands of children all over the north and south island's of NZ.

When we're not on the road you can find us on Waiheke Island sharing stories in our community.
